Career:
Marietta Csatlós obtained her BSc degree in Earth Sciences and her MSc degree in Geophysics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University. She has been working in seismology since 2019, initially under the supervision of Bálint Süle and subsequently under Erzsébet Győri. In September 2023, she began her PhD studies at the Earth Sciences Doctoral School of ELTE, with her research focusing on the renewal of the seismic hazard map of Hungary. Within this framework, she delineates seismic source zones in Hungary and the surrounding regions, and analyses the attenuation characteristics of seismic waves in the Pannonian Basin. Applying modern probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, her aim is to develop reliable hazard maps that comply with current standards and take into account the geological and seismotectonic characteristics of the region.
