Career:
Erzsébet Győri graduated as a geophysicist from Eötvös Loránd University in 1983, and then started working at the Department of Geophysics. After a six-year break, she conducted her research in the MTA-ELTE Geophysical Research Group until 2006. She obtained her PhD in 2005. After the research group was discontinued, she began working at the Geodetic and Geophysical Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (now HUN-REN FI) in Sopron from 2007. Her main research areas within the seismology are seismic hazard assessment and site amplification. She has also participated in the implementation of several industrial projects and is actively involved in educating future generations. She taught at the ELTE Department of Geophysics for several years and has supervised numerous BSc, MSc and PhD theses and research projects. Since her retirement in 2025, she has been working part-time at the institute.Research projects and Grants:
