PARTICIPATION OF HUN-REN EPSS RESEARCHERS IN THE IAG 2025 SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLY
HUN-REN EPSS was represented by Enikő Barbély, PhD student at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), and Judit Benedek, research fellow on the Scientific Assembly of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) organized in Rimini, Italy, from September 1 to 5, with two poster presentations.
The first poster was presented by Enikő Barbély in the section G04-Earth Rotation and Geodynamics showing the test results of the nanoradian resolution tilt meter network which has been jointly operated with GeoSphere, Austria since 2023.
The second poster was presented by Matteo Scarponi, researcher at the University of Lyon, in the section G03-2: Gravity Field – Terrestrial Gravimetry section, showing the results of the working group “Gravitational modelling of Balmuccia peridotite” led by György Hetényi, professor of the University of Lausanne. The institute’s Geodesy Research Unit is an active member of this working group.
Poster presentations:
1P. Assessment of the network operation of high resolution Lippmann tiltmeters installed for the monitoring of the Mur-Mürz fault line (Austria), authors: Enikő Barbély, Judit Benedek, Gábor Papp, Nikolaus Horn, Roman Leonhardt and Bruno Meurers)
2P. Participative gravity-modelling of the Balmuccia peridotite body: progress report and preliminary model constraints, authors: Matteo Scarponi, Ludovic Baron, Denis Anikiev, Enikő Barbély, Judit Benedek, Hans-Jurgen Götze, Mohammad Ismaiel, Gábor Papp, Sabine Schmidt, Rosaria Tondi and György Hetényi
