EPSS participation at the Winter Satellite Workshop

Our institute’s researcher, István Bozsó, recently participated in the Winter Satellite Workshop 2026 held at Aalto Dipoli Conference in Espoo, Finland from January 20-23. The workshop is a leading New Space event in the region, bringing together experts in space technology and science to discuss emerging topics.
István presented his innovative approach to landslide monitoring by integrating Sentinel-1 interferometry and GNSS networks. This method combines geodetic benchmarks equipped with corner reflectors oriented towards Sentinel-1 passes to estimate 3-D surface changes accurately. The integration of these technologies overcomes the limitations of each individual technique, providing a comprehensive understanding of landslide activity and potentially predicting natural hazards.
In addition to his conference presentation, István visited the Hungarian Embassy in Helsinki to participate in an online meeting with Hungarian astronauts Tibor Kapu and Gyula Cserényi.
